Apostle chosen to complete the college of the Twelve — feast on May 14.

Saint Matthias accompanied Jesus from John's baptism until the Ascension, according to the Acts of the Apostles.
After Judas's betrayal, the Eleven chose Matthias by lot to restore the number of the Twelve.
He was sent as a witness to the Resurrection and to Christ's life among the people.
According to tradition, he preached in Judea and Ethiopia and suffered martyrdom for proclaiming the Gospel.
His liturgical feast is May 14. He is invoked for vocation, fidelity to the Church, and discernment.
