Saint Martha
Feast day: July 29
Disciple of Jesus at Bethany, model of hospitality, service, and faith amid trials.

Martha is mentioned in the Gospels as sister of Mary and Lazarus, living in Bethany near Jerusalem.
She received Jesus in her home and served Him devotedly — the scene where Mary listens at His feet while Martha works.
Jesus taught that hearing the Word is the «better part», without devaluing loving service.
In John's Gospel, Martha professed faith in Christ as risen before the miracle of Lazarus.
Christian tradition venerates her as saint of hospitality and work. Her liturgical feast is July 29.
Dedicated prayer
To the disciple of Bethany, we ask balance between service and prayer, hospitality, and faith in Christ the Lord.
