Prayer to Saint John the Evangelist

To the beloved disciple and apostle of the Gospel, we ask love for Christ, purity, and depth of faith.

Almighty ever-living God, who entrusted what is deepest in your Heart to your beloved Apostle John, graciously bring us, your people, to share in his gifts, and in that fullness of faith which was your Son's gift to your beloved disciple resting on his breast at the Supper (mention your request). Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
