Saint Scholastica was born around 480, twin sister of Saint Benedict of Nursia.
She founded communities of Benedictine nuns at Plombariola, near Monte Cassino.
Tradition narrates her last conversation with her brother, prolonged by a miracle, before her death.
She lived chaste love for God, prayer, and fraternal service as a model of consecrated women's life.
Her liturgical feast is February 10. She is invoked for families, siblings, and monastic communities.
