Saint Jude Thaddeus

Apostle of Christ, patron of difficult and desperate cases, model of evangelizing fidelity.
Saint Jude Thaddeus, also called Thaddeus or Jude James, was one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus. He is not to be confused with Judas Iscariot, the betrayer.
Tradition holds that he preached the Gospel in Mesopotamia, Syria, and Persia, converting many to Christianity with courage and perseverance.
The New Testament letters include the Epistle of Jude, traditionally attributed to this apostle, exhorting the faithful to fidelity in faith.
Tradition narrates his martyrdom by stoning or spear, bearing witness to Christ until the end.
Devotion to St. Jude Thaddeus as patron of hopeless causes spread especially in the twentieth century, when the faithful began invoking him in situations where hope had nearly been lost.
His liturgical feast is celebrated on October 28, together with Saint Simon.
