Isidore was born around 1070 in Madrid, in a humble farming family.

He married Maria Torribia (Saint Maria de la Cabeza) and lived faith in the daily work of the fields.

Known for prayer, charity to the poor, and care for animals, he became a model of holiness in labor.

Tradition tells of miracles of multiplied food and angelic appearances during his work.

He died on May 15, 1130; his body was found incorrupt centuries later.

Canonized in 1622 with other saints of Toledo, his liturgical feast is May 15.
