Elizabeth of Aragon was born in 1271, daughter of Peter III of Aragon. She married Denis I of Portugal and was queen consort from 1282 to 1325.

She cared for the poor, founded hospitals and convents, and gave alms discreetly.

Known for reconciling enemies and bearing marriage and widowhood trials with faith.

She died on July 4, 1336, in Estremoz. Beatified in 1526 and canonized in 1625.

Her liturgical feast is July 4. She is invoked for peace, harmony, and charity.
