Saint Dulce of the Poor

Sister Dulce (Maria Rita de Souza Brito Lopes Pontes) was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, in 1914.
She entered the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God.
She dedicated her life to the poor and sick, founding Sao Rafael Hospital and works of welcome.
Known as the «Good Angel of Brazil,» she lived concrete charity and deep spirituality.
Beatified in 2011 and canonized in 2019. Her feast is October 13. She is invoked for the sick and works of charity.
