He founded Clairvaux Abbey and became one of the most influential spiritual voices of the 12th century.
He preached the Second Crusade, reformed monastic life, and wrote deeply on Mary.
He authored Marian sermons and is associated with spreading the Memorare in popular devotion.
His liturgical feast is August 20. He is invoked for spiritual zeal, Marian devotion, and love of Christ.
