Apostle of Antioch — feast on June 11.
Saint Barnabas, a Levite from Cyprus, sold his land and gave the proceeds to the Apostles.
He was called «son of encouragement» and introduced Saul (Paul) to the Jerusalem community.
He accompanied Paul on the first missionary journey and founded Christian communities.
Set apart by the Holy Spirit at Antioch for the work of evangelization.
His liturgical feast is June 11. He is invoked for mission, evangelization, and welcome of converts.
