Novena to Saint James the Apostle

Pray one day at a time for nine consecutive days (ideally July 17–25). Each day, say the day's invocation and the prayer to St. James. --- DAY 1 — Faith O Saint James, strengthen my faith to follow Christ generously. O Glorious Apostle, Saint James, who by reason of thy fervent and generous heart wast chosen by Jesus to be a witness of His glory on Mount Tabor, and of His agony in Gethsemane; obtain for us strength and consolation in the unending warfare of this life (mention your request), that, having constantly and generously followed Jesus, we may be victors in the strife and deserve to receive the victor's crown in heaven. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be. --- DAY 2 — Courage O Saint James, grant me courage to witness the Gospel. O Glorious Apostle, Saint James, who by reason of thy fervent and generous heart wast chosen by Jesus to be a witness of His glory on Mount Tabor, and of His agony in Gethsemane; obtain for us strength and consolation in the unending warfare of this life (mention your request), that, having constantly and generously followed Jesus, we may be victors in the strife and deserve to receive the victor's crown in heaven.
