Invitatory — Psalm 95
Opening of the Office of Readings with Psalm 95 — invitation to acclaim the Lord, rock of salvation.
2 min read
Come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us shout for joy to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Come, let us bow down and worship;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.
O that today you would listen to his voice!
Do not harden your hearts!
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
When to pray
At the beginning of the Liturgy of the Hours (Morning Prayer or Office of Readings), especially in Advent and Lent, when opening the day's prayer.
